Dr. Nigil Haroon is a Malayali rheumatologist at the University Health Network and an associate professor of medicine and rheumatology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Haroon is a clinician scientist at the Toronto Western Hospital and scientist in the Krembil Research Institute. His area of research includes predicting radiographic progression, identifying novel therapeutic targets and understanding the immunology and genetic basis of ankylosing spondylitis pathogenesis. He is well published in this area and has been an invited speaker in several international meetings. Dr. Haroon has won several awards including the Canadian Rheumatology Association young investigator award and the Jane Bruckel Award of the Spondylitis Association of America.
