Malayali Association of Social Workers, Ontario (MASWO) is a registered not- for- profit organization dedicated to serving all Social Workers of Malayali descent and their families, and the Canadian community at large in Ontario. The primary objective of MASWO is to promote networking and capacity building for its members, connecting them with appropriate resources. MASWO’’s core focuses is on ongoing professional development and most of its members work in significant roles at various government and nongovernmental organizations
The group actively involved in building a strong Malayali community, offering various newcomer services including job search workshops, resume preparations, support for job interviews, and volunteering. The group provided counseling and referral services for victims of domestic violence and parenting tips for newcomer families. In addition, the group provided guidance and supportive counseling to international Malayali students in Canada and conducted a fundraising event to support the Tsunami victims in Kerala, India in 2005
