Dr. Asha Nair is a Malayali working at Childrens Hospital of Eastern Ontario specialized on Pediatrics, she completed her undergraduate studies and pharmacy degree prior to completing her medical degree at the University of British Columbia in 1996. She then completed a residency in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba in 2000. Three years of fellowship training in pediatric ambulatory medicine and child development preceded Dr. Nair’s current appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) at the University of Ottawa and the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre. Dr. Nair assesses a variety of children with developmental disabilities through her work in the neonatal follow-up, Down syndrome and child development clinics. Dr. Nair also runs a general pediatrics clinic at CHEO and serves as an attending physician covering the inpatient medicine wards as part of her appointment in the Division of Pediatric Medicine. Her research focuses on Down syndrome and feeding difficulties in children, particularly in children with developmental disabilities.
